The ever popular Yorkshire Dales are only 30 minutes drive from Darlington.
The rugged landscape of Swaledale is popular with hikers as well as tourists who want a more relaxing experience. Pop into the towns of historical Richmond (pictured) and see the castle or Reeth for local crafts and souvenir shopping. Wensleydale, famous for its cheese (you can visit the factory), is a broad green valley with the River Ure flowing through it. Visit Bolton Castle or the many pretty little villages and waterfalls along the dale. Passing through the market town of Hawes, you will reach the Settle to Carlisle Railway, a popular journey through the magnificent wild scenery of the pennines. For anyone visiting the north-east of England on holiday, Darlington is centrally located and convenient for the Yorkshire Dales and many other tourist attractions and places of interest nearby. Whether you're visiting the Darlington area for business or pleasure, we look forward to meeting you and hope you enjoy your stay at Balmoral Guest House. |
