Here's a nice verse by Jessica Harris:
Teddy Bear
I wish I were a teddy bear,
sitting on a warm, soft bed,
looking cute and giving warmth,
forever and ever,
lovingly.
And here's a short poem from Jennie Walker in Australia:
Roses are red,
Bright like the sky,
Then it turns to night,
And the roses die.
A very relevant poem for the Colour Fortunes site from Sambathkery Mean
who is 13 years old and in grade 8.
Color
Red is the color of an apple,
Blue is the color of the sky,
Black is the color of ebony,
White is the color of the moon,
Orange is the color of Marigolds,
Yellow is the color of the sun and,
Green is my Mystical Color,
Color is a beautiful thing.
And a puzzling one from Caitlin Emry:
Way Down Deep,
Inside the Popcorn Box,
Way Down Deep,
In butter and oil and popcorn,
Greedy hands reach,
Big mouths crunch loudly,
Butter creeps warmly,
Inside the Popcorn Box,
Way Down Deep.
