Eastern area of Darlington
Following Parkgate eastwards leads us past Bank Top railway station, along Yarm Road and on to Yarm Road Industrial Estate where there are both traditional and high-tech industries.
Heading along Haughton Road in a more north-easterly direction takes us through two villages just before leaving the town. First is Haughton then almost immediately after Great Burdon. The road then becomes the A66 to Teesside.
